Implementing Shapo's Google Reviews Schema can greatly enhance your website’s search result visibility, SEO, and CTR by displaying star ratings on Google. Here’s how to set it up and ensure Google recognizes it:

Step 1: Ensure Testimonials and Reviews Are Imported

Before starting, make sure you’ve imported as many testimonials and reviews as possible. The more data you import and collect, the more comprehensive your ratings will appear on Google.

Step 2: Generate the Schema

  1. Navigate to the "Testimonials" page in your Shapo dashboard.

  2. Click the "Google Reviews Schema" button.

  3. Copy the generated JavaScript code.

Step 3: Add the Code to Your Website

  1. Paste the JavaScript code into the <head> section of your website's HTML or the specific page you want the schema to apply to.

  2. Save and publish your changes.

Before adding the code, keep the following in mind:

  1. Add the schema code to a specific product or service page: Google does not support star ratings on root domains or home pages. For star ratings to appear in search results, the schema code must be placed on a page that highlights a particular product or service. Make sure to add the schema code to a dedicated product or service page rather than your homepage.

  2. Place the code before other schema codes: Ensure that the Google star rating code is positioned at the top of your page's code, before any other schema codes in the header. If you're using WordPress, consider using a plugin to insert the code into the header for a specific page.

Step 4: Request Google to Recrawl Your Page

  1. Log in to your Google Search Console dashboard.

  2. Enter the URL of the page where you’ve added the schema.

  3. Click "Request Indexing" to ask Google to recrawl the page.

  4. It might take a few days for Google to start showing the ratings in search results.

This process will help your star ratings and aggregated reviews appear in search results, improving your site’s visibility and click-through rates.

Step 5: Test Your Page with Google's Rich Results Test

Visit the Google Rich Results Test tool to check if Google can detect the reviews schema on your website. Simply enter the page URL, and you'll be able to verify that everything is correctly implemented, as shown in the screenshot:

Remember, Shapo’s code automatically updates the schema whenever you import or receive new testimonials, ensuring your ratings stay current.
